A woman is undergoing psychological evaluation at a local hospital after being tased by police at a psychological rehabilitation facility.
According to a lieutenant with the Corning Police Department, they were called the 178 Pine Street, also called the Victory House, just after 5 pm Tuesday for a report of a woman about to cause harm to herself. When they arrived, they say a female resident of the Victory House was in her room, holding a knife to her throat and screaming that she was about to kill herself.
Police say when they tried to calm the woman down, she lunged at one of the officers with the knife. That's when the officer used his taser to disarm her and knock her away. The woman was taken into custody, and escorted by ambulance to a local hospital.
