Tallahassee Police say Officer Jon Schulze was on routine patrol near Micosukee Road and Martine Street when he was notified by a Tallahassee Democrat delivery driver that a pit bull was running around and appeared aggressive. Schulze located the dog nearby. The dog began to growl at the officer as he stood behind his patrol vehicle.
Police say the dog then ran toward the officer, while growling and appeared he would bite the officer. Schulze avoided the attack by deploying his Taser. The Taser application was successful and the dog ran away.
Officers were unable to locate the dog after the incident. Citizens in the area are asked to use caution and contact the Tallahassee Police Department if confronted by the animal at 850-891-4200.
